Fall Sports
Cross-Country
La Entrada will compete in a Cross Country league open to all students from 5th through 8th grades. Practices and/or meets will be on Tuesday's and Thursdays right after school is finished for the day, meeting on the blacktop lunch area. Practices will start on Tuesday September 5th.
Our teams are entered in a competitive league comprised of teams from public middle schools in and around our area.
Flag Football
La Entrada’s flag football program is open to all students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Teams will be divided per grade.
Teams are entered in a recreational league with teams from public middle schools in and around our area. Each school takes turns hosting games throughout the season. Games will typically last 60-75 minutes.
Practices for all teams begin Tuesday, Sept. 5 and will be held immediately after school, 3:20 PM-4:15 PM. Practice days are TBA. There will be two practices and one game per week. Games begin mid-September and run through the end of October.
Volleyball Clinic (4th - 5th grade)
The La Entrada Volleyball Program offers a Volleyball Skills Clinic for 4th and 5th grade girls.
The young athletes will be taught basic volleyball skills (bumping, setting, serving, court rotation) and focus on ball control. The players will learn how to pass with good mechanics, prepare for serve reception and learn defensive skills. In addition, the basics of serving (underhand and overhead) athletes will be coached and participate in practice.
Scrimmages will take place later in the season for the players to learn how to rotate properly and begin to get a sense of competition in preparation for league play beginning in 6th grade.

Fall Tennis Clinics
Fall tennis clinics are run by La Entrada Coach and teaching pro Tony Simon at the La Entrada tennis courts. Clinics will begin September 11 and run through October 25. The week of Oct. 28 will be used for rain makeups. Clinics are offered for 4th – 8th graders.
There will be three levels offered:
Beginner/Advanced Beginner: Instruction will include basic fundamentals of all strokes, with focus on being able to rally and serve in a game. Clinics will be held Mondays from 4:00-5:00pm and Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30pm.
Intermediate: Focus will include developing strong groundstrokes, serving and net play. Clinics will be held Mondays from 5:00-6:00pm and Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00pm.
Intermediate/Advanced: Focus will be challenging drills, strategies and match play. Clinics will be held Wednesdays from 4:00-5:15pm and Thursday 4:00-5:15pm.
Volleyball League (6th – 8th grade)
The La Entrada Volleyball League is open to girls in the 6th - 8th grades. Teams participate in the recreational league run by the Menlo Park Youth Volleyball Program. There will be two practices and one game per week. Practices begin the week of Sept. 7, games begin later in September and the season ends with playoffs in late November. Games are played against other area schools at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center, 700 Alma Street, Menlo Park.
